A couple week's ago my girlfriends helped me celebrate my birthday with a pie, but this special birthday pie actually consisted of 8 amazing different pieces of pie! I can't remember what all 8 pieces were but we had pie ranging from chocolate chip pecan, apple, chess, red velvet, and several flavors in between and they were all super delicious!
These tasty pieces of pie were from The Loving Pie Company in Nashville, which is a cute little bake shop in the Berry Hill area of Nashville, TN . The Loving Pie Company makes homemade pies and hand crafted coffee beverages, and their pie flavors range from sweet to savory to even vegetarian, vegan and even gluten free. I 100% recommend this bakery if you are looking for high quality handmade pies that are perfect for something as simple as dessert for your family, a gift for a friend or customer, or part of the menu for a party. The Loving Pie Company no doubt has every flavor to mix and match your needs for whatever the occasion you are looking for!
Brown Sugar Pie
Ingredients:
3 cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 stick non salted butter
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup milk
2 regular pie shells or 1 deep dish pie shell
In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, flour and salt. (Attempt to break up any clumps of the brown sugar but they will naturally break down when you include the liquids so don't stress to much if you don't get them all. )
In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, beaten eggs, vanilla and milk and mix with a hand mixer, or standing mixer mix until well blended.
Mix the liquids with the dry mixture together using a mixer until well blended.
Pour into pie shells and bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes or until the pie is set (wobbly) in the middle (~60 minutes for deep dish). If you want to ensure your crust doesn't burn after about 20 minutes take the pie out and cover the crust with aluminum foil, leaving the pie still exposed. This will be important to do if you are doing a deep dish pie. Let cool prior to serving.
